Whats your face shape?

So I still can't get all my fun hair and beauty videos to upload to my blog... Here is some interesting things to think about when you get a haircut or a new style. It is so important, yet a lot of people don't pay attention to it. When I cut peoples hair I look at the bone structure and face shape for the best result. The face shape you have can make or break your cut and style. So how do you find out what face shape you have? Go to a mirror and really look at what your shape looks like, there are 5 different face shapes.  If you can't tell just by looking at it in the mirror grab a bar of soap or dry erase marker outline your face and stand back.  What do you see?   Oval, Square,Heart/diamond, Round, or long/oblong.  It's all about focusing and enhancing those beautiful characteristics we have and hiding the not so great ones! Anyone can be absolutely beautiful.

OVAL

If your face is oval shaped, lucky you! There is no limit to hairstyles for your face shape! You can pull of nearly any hairstyle or hair shape! Every different hairstyle from long to short lengths, layers, bangs, blunt cuts, angled ends-you name it, you can have it!  If you've got great eyes, try cutting bangs.  If you have great bone structure try a short angular bob that shows off your chin! Actresses with oval face shapes include: Jennifer Anniston, Rhianna, Keira Knightly and Halle Berry.

Square
If you have a square face, chances are you have a strong, angular jaw. What a gorgeous attribute! The best  hairstyle for your facial shape is something with a lot of texture. Curls or choppy ends or even short spiky cuts are right up your alley! Avoid blunt cut bangs and one length bobs at all costs. Light layers will soften your face shape along with curls and a side part. Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, and Demi Moore share your face shape.

Heart/Diamond
If you have a Heart/Diamond face, draw the focus more to your eyes and cheekbones. Try a side swept fringe and a strong part. Keep your layers long and soft. Keep the hair below the jaw line and go for layers that graze your cheekbones.  Avoid short blunt bangs and choppy layers.  Celebs who share your face shape include: Reece Witherspoon, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Lopez.

Round
Round faces can be hard to accommodate, but don’t despair! What you need to do is to make your face appear longer and leaner, and to do this you’ll need a cut with less volume around the face. A shoulder length haircut with soft graduated layers is your ideal style. You can have bangs if you like, but keep them long and side swept. Avoid chin length bobs and parting down the middle.  Actresses with round face shapes include: Kirsten Dunst, Ginnifer Goodwin and Drew Barrymore.

 Long/Oblong
Those with long face shapes should try adding some width to their do.  Such as blunt bangs, and chin length bobs.  You just want to be careful to not add more length that will drag your face down.  If you have long hair with a long face- chop some bangs!  Actresses with round face shapes include: Tyra Banks, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashlee Simpson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Now with all of this said and done with your face shape figured out, you still need to consider cowlicks, and bone structure (which I will talk about in another post) I hope this helps out. Please Follow my blog. I will be posting more soon :-)
