Front Porch Idea

I am going to be posting a bunch of cheap and easy ways to decorate your front porch for each month of the year. Here is my October one, start off by getting 2 potting pots (I spray painted mine white) I always have them look like this each month before I add in the holiday or theme items. Fill it half full of dirt and then add in any of your color choices for tree round ornaments, then add something for height I used some nice decor twigs and other natural items such as pine cones. Now that you have your base you can let your imagination go wild. The dollar store will be your best friend to achieve what I will share with you.
I have dollar store tomb stones and spiders that I added
If you have room to add any kind of smaller table on your porch decorate that too.
I hope you liked my October porch decorating ideas :)

Another Porch Project Complete

I have my next porch project all done! I took a picture of my kids feet and used an editing program to add the text which reads; Please Remove Your Shoes. I have seen sayings and signs made out of wood but I wanted something more than just wood and vinyl. I added it in the center of my wreath on my front door. That way everyone will see it. I just bought a cheap $2.00 black frame at Walmart and added ribbon to it. I used a command hook to hang it so I didn't have to nail anything into my nice wood door. I love command hooks for so many reasons, they work great.

Porch Ideas

I'm anxious to start spending more time outdoors as the weather gets warmer. And it's a great feeling to make a project that helps your home make a great first impression. Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the spring cleaning and fresh crisp air. Here is one of my latest projects for my front porch.

I got 3 turquoise chalk painted crates, distressed them a little, 3 really cute distressed yellow flower pots and, none other then some FAKE (yes fake) red flowers from the dollar store. It is less time consuming to have to remember to water ALL of your flowers so I chose to have a few fake ones this year.

Yes, the sun will eventually fade them but it wont break the bank to have to replace them every couple of years since they only cost one dollar. They look real and no one will notice unless they touch them. No dead or wilted flowers here this year! Of course I can't forget about the cute turtles too :) I have about 4 other porch projects I am working on right now so check back on this post for some more porch ideas.

You can do something like this for any home or apartment to make it warm and inviting.

Dinning Room Before and After

 Before

AFTER....

For our dinning room I went with more earthy tones. The paint I used was Milk Chocolate from Val-spar Paint on the arch I used Cobblestone  . It is simple but still elegant. I will have some curtains soon I just haven't found the ONE.... The best advice I can give you on having a nice table with kids in the house, buy some plastic at Joanne Fabrics and have it cut to the table size. It's the perfect shield for kids. I am glad we have it, it has saved us on more than one occasion :) They have different thicknesses to choose from. Enjoy!

Kitchen Makeover

I LOVE to decorate. It is always so fun to see the results of where you started and end. I know a lot of people are afraid of the color red, but I think if you have the right tone it works great! The color I used in my kitchen is "Posh Red" by Valspar signature paint. I would love to paint my cabinets white at some point. I just need to wait for summer time :) Here is the before and after pictures. Enjoy and don't be afraid to use bold colors!
