Today I want to share with you my kitchen makeover. Kitchen renovations are among the most expensive home-improvement projects, but it's possible to give a tired kitchen new life without breaking the bank. At the most basic, walls can be painted and cabinet hardware changed to freshen the look. You always want to have a color scheme for your home that is not over the top. What I mean by over the top is, you don't want pink in one room, green in one and red in another. Try to stay with the same theme of colors. It is good to pick 3-4 with accent colors.
In my house my color accent is Turquoise (its my favorite color) greys, black, white and tans/browns.
For my kitchen makeover I painted the walls Cape Cobblestone in Benjamin Moore. I am in LOVE with this color because it is not too over powering but yet still warm enough with not being a "cold" grey. I feel it is a nice balanced grey. Some greys out there have a blue undertone to them that I don't like, this one was perfect for me!
I HATE clutter. Try to keep things off of your counters with the exception of a few decorations not going over board. Clean and simple is the way to be :) Notice how shiny my granite counter tops are??? I will be sharing my FAVORITE homemade granite cleaner in another post soon. :)
We framed in our kitchen window with molding which I feel made it look a lot better then in the before it was just plain Jane. (I want to do it with all the windows in my house)
I added 2 kitchen sayings in vinyl that I like, one above my stove and the other above the window. Enjoy life it's delicious and Meals & Memories are made here.
TA DA I am very happy with my kitchen where I can cook and build memories with my family :) ENJOY! I will be sharing more of my home tour soon.
Simply gorgeous! I love it!
